Mark Ingber has been an executive with the Church of Scientology International for more than four decades. “I worked with Amy for quite a few years, at least in the same area, and sometimes even as her senior. Because repeatedly it would come up that things she claimed to be the state of affairs were, in fact, lies.”

I worked with Amy for quite a few years, at least in the same area, and sometimes even as her senior. I got to know her pretty well in terms of her level of integrity. And I must tell you that she was a chronic liar, is my view of her, because repeatedly it would come up that things she claimed to be the state of affairs were, in fact, lies.

She was personally involved in major financial irregularity. To be specific, a contractor was hired who was literally a criminal, with a criminal record and who was on probation at the time. And this person was hired with the contract not even being cleared with our legal department. It turned out that he kept all of the payments, two million dollars, of payments that were meant to go to pay the subcontractors. He never paid any of them. She claimed to be the person being responsible for the finances and we wound up having to pay all the subcontractors over again.

When it was found out what she had done, she actually was removed from her position, in disgrace obviously. Spent the next couple of years working on various low level jobs in order to basically, you know, prove herself that she could be trusted to some degree.

It obviously is a point that how could we possibly not have seen this or why would we trust her again? Well, we believe in—and it’s our policy—that we give a person another chance. And she just happens to be such an incredibly proficient liar that she managed to present a picture that wasn’t, in fact, the truth.

The situation of her lying and presenting a different picture, her state of affairs and her competence and her ethical state and so forth, turns out on further review to be a very chronic situation with her since she was even a child. I mean just ridiculous things like claiming to be in a rock band and then it turns out she never sang in any band at all. Claiming to know how to play musical instruments that she’s never touched in her life. It’s just a very chronic situation with her and she is a liar who lies even about lying.
